CTL: Crossing the Line
Alrighty. I would apologize to the 2 people that read this, but I feel no need. I have been moving and working, and working and moving, and I am just about finished with moving. Working on the other hand I am not. I am in the middle of starting up a non-profit organization called Crossing the Line (CTL). What CTL is, is a watch-dog group similar to perverted-justice.com, only we focus on Texas and Texas only. We may one day push outside the boundaries, but Texas has the strictest of the child molestation laws, and enforces them quite fiercely.
There are numerous technologies surrounding this project that will make our process much smoother than perverted-justice's. Such technologies are in the process of being built as I type. One of which is a custom Jabber client, that automatically logs the chats to a central server as the user types. Also it includes a bank of pre-configured screen names, that you just choose from and launch the service with. All our volunteers will go through a one hour web conference and have a test which will have common chat scenarios.
All of these technologies are costly though, and we will depend on YOUR donations (both of yours) to see this public service reach the light of day.
Note: Law enforcement agencies, provide us with a place to contact you, and we can have chat logs forwarded with phone numbers, meeting attempts and possibly set up stings if you are willing.
